FUNdraisers For Hurricane Sandy: Get Involved & Have Some Fun

A Cause For Celebration

So many people have put effort towards raising money and awareness for Hurricane Sandy victims.  Stars like Rihanna, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Susan Sarandon, among others, have put together events for the cause.  Nights of fun on behalf of those in need.  But, the hardship isn’t even close to being over… and neither is the fun.  Read below for upcoming events that will be acting as fundraisers for Sandy.

November 14, 2012- Mister East (Roselle, NJ) has teamed up with many other nightclubs in the NJ area, including some who were greatly impacted by the storm, to host a night of charity and dancing.

November 14, 2012- NYFVC, Rooftop Films, and StoryCorps/Rauch Brothers (Brooklyn, NJ) have gotten together at the Brooklyn Music School to bring supporters a night of film and animation, starting at 7pm.  Tickets are only $10 and all proceeds go to Sandy victims.

November 15, 2012- MTV’s Jersey Shore cast, along with other celebrities, will be participating in a “Restore the Shore” benefit to rebuild Seaside Heights, televised live from a studio in Times Square.  Stars like Taylor Swift are already publicizing the event.  You can find more info on MTV.com such as “You don’t have to wait until Thursday to help out: Text SHORE to 85944 to make a $10 donation now.”  Architecture for Humanity is a big participant.

November 16, 2012- The Inn at Longshore (Westport, CT) will be having its Fall Gala in honor of Hurricane Sandy Victims.  Tickets are on sale through tomorrow for $100 each.  This black tie optional event will feature live Broadway performances, exciting silent and live auctions, a reception, dinner, and the presentation to Mary Tyler Moore of the Gertrude O. Lewis Humanitarian Award.

November 16, 2012- Onegin (NYC), an upscale Russian hotspot restaurant and lounge will be accepting both monies and clothing at the door this Friday night.  Festivities begin at 10:30pm.  Come in to enjoy great food, ambience, dance beats, and to give back a little.

November 17, 2012- The Beverly Nightclub (West Hollywood, CA) begins its 3-hour event of fun at 8pm.  This prominent LA hotspot will be giving all ticket sales and donations to Direct Relief International, a medical based organization, for victims of Sandy.

November 17, 2012- Emmy winner Louis CK (Staten Island, NY) will be doing two separate stand-up routines to benefit storm survivors.  For $65 you can see him headline at the historic St. George Theatre this Friday.

November 26, 2012- Delicious restaurant Nicholas (Red Bank, NJ) will be holding  a 5-course dinner with wine pairings with 100% of the proceeds going to staff members who’ve lost everything in the storm.  For $200 a person, you engage in gourmet delight for the aid of others.

November 30, 2012- The Uptown Nightclub (Oakland, California) has a night of live performances planned to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims.  So, if you’re in the Oakland area, stop by for some live entertainment for the greater good.
